Who is Miss University?

Anna Beth Higginbotham is the daughter of Sonya and Tripp Higginbotham of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Anna Beth is a senior Broadcast Journalism major, English minor, and is receiving a specialization in public relations. She is the Associated Student Body Director of health promotions, and is a part of the associated student body cabinet. Anna Beth is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority where she has served as Philanthropy Chairman and Public Relations Chairman. She is also a Newswatch 99 anchor and a Meek School of Journalism and New Media recruiter.

She was named Miss Dixieland in 2011 and Miss Heartland in 2012. Anna Beth placed in the top ten in the Miss Mississippi pageants in 2011 and 2012. She was also the “Quality of Life” scholarship winner in the 2011 Miss Mississippi pageant and the community service scholarship winner in the 2012 pageant. Anna Beth was a piano student for seven years and has been a voice student for ten years. She is also the older sister to Patrick Higginbotham, a sophomore at the university.
